discovering the city you live in

My husband and I decided to have a weekend off together..a rare thing at our place. We thought about where we might go and decided we never really take time to look around the city in which we live, so spent the night in the city of Melbourne, all of about 10 minutes from where we live!!

We stayed at the Lindrum Hotel which is a lovely little boutique hotel in Flinders St.

Discovered all the arcades and side streets.


Had afternoon tea at the Windsor


and all in all had a really lovely relaxing time. I even had an afternoon nap.

the pressure is on

As you all know my posting is somewhat in frequent to say the least. I need to improve my game as 2 of amitie's finest have started new blogs. Lucy will be commenting on what it is like to work at the store and other aspects of her life ( and what it is like working for your mother I suspect)..... this may be very enlightening for us all, and Judy has also started her new blog (she may be a little kinder to me). Keep an eye on them for me please.

Well done Simon, all together with just the borders to add. I have had several folk let me know they are up to date which is better than me!!
I am late posting this month( or should I say last months) block as I have had 2 shows and have also been waiting on the large shipment of spot for the borders which has now arrived. We hope to get April posted on Tuesday. I am sorry for the delay.

Ever wondered what happened to that piece you know you cut out???


Karen searched for ages then cut another clamshell to finish only to find the missing piece neatly stitched to the back of her block.

New fabric arrived today and the girls at the store have cut and packed boxes ready for me to take to the show tomorrow. Please stop by and say hello. We have moved our stand to the ground floor, just opposite the Pippi Longstockings display, near the main door.

Off to the stitchesandcraft show to set up. Of course my camera is already packed so no pictures( my mobile phone is also on the pallet).
I hope to see many faces I know and some new folk also. I know it will be great so come along as it is only $10 entry and there will be heaps to do and see at Caulfield racecourse from tomorrow till Sunday.
