winners... yes, plural!

Thank you to everybody who played along in what I think is my first blog giveaway.
I loved reading all the comments so much. Got some great ideas and also a few laughs!
I got the Amitie Girl herself to randomly pick a winner out of the hat so here it is...

Congratulations FRENCHIE who said: Oragnisation is key. My girlfriends and I organise a monthly session dedicated to a nice homemade lunch and an afternoon of all types of sewing. We call it Crafternoon!

I loved this giveaway so much that I have decided to giveaway a SECOND PRIZE!
I have a Jelly Roll for this prize from the same range as fat 1/4 bundle. It's my favorite comment that will win this prize so...
Congratulations to KAREN WILSON who wrote: I think my survival tactic is: don't do the housework!! I only do things that need doing, hence we have a walk-in-robe that you can't walk in because there are clean clothes all over the floor and stuff like that. Means I'm a lot more sane!

We call that a Floordrobe in my house Karen!
Frenchie and Karen please e-mail us at amitie@amitie.com.au with your address so we can get your prizes to you.

Thanks again to everybody who played a long. This might have been the first giveaway but it certainly won't be the last!

Amitie Giveaway!!

It's no crime in pointing out that we're all time poor. By the time you get to work, get home, do the grocery shopping, feed the kids (or in my case, adults), do the dishes, the clothes washing there's barely any time to stitch... and let me tell you, being a one arm bandit has not helped either!
Any tips or tricks on how to juggle life's tasks a little better would be greatly appreciated by me and many others so let's get the conversation started!

Leave a comment on this post about any sewing tip, cooking tip... anything you know that helps you get through the daily bump and grind.
We'll reward one of you with a lovely fat 1/4 bundle. That 15 fat 1/4's in total valued at $75.00!!!!

We'll pick a winner out of the hat next Monday the 29th of Aug.
Only Australian Residents are eligible for the prize but doesn't mean our international customers can't share their hints and tricks!

I wish I could stitch.

Looking at the Cosmo Embroidery threads is enough to make me scream at the moment.
So many beautiful colour combination's that make me want to create.

But of course I can't do anything fun....

Beware of gutters!

new BOMs

We will be launching our 2 new Block of the Month programs at the end of August - thought I might pop a bit of a sneak peak online for all to see.

My new block of the month isn't completed yet. For those that haven't heard on the grape vine, I have fractured my right shoulder so of course progress on sewing projects has come to a stand still. But I can show you what I have done.

This quilt has been designed so that you can either hand or machine piece it. It's called 'Gypsy Wife' and is $40 AUD per month ($45 AUD if you live overseas, which I know some of my BOMers do). It's a 12 month program.

The other BOM is called The Aunts Quilt and is designed by Gina Gregory, one of the many talented staff here at Amitie.
This quilt is very beautiful with a lovely mix of applique and pieced blocks. It too is $40 AUD per month ($45 AUD for O/S) and is a 12 month program.

If you'd like to join either or both of these Block of the Month programs please call the shop on (03) 9557 8551 or you can e-mail us at amitie@amitie.com.au
Places are limited so get in quick!

Rockin Robin Round 3 by Lucy Kingwell

Rockin Robin Round 3 has just been sent to anybody who has signed up.
This is a free PDF pattern we're emailing out for all our loyal fans. The quilt is being handed from staff member to staff member for them to add their own border on to a medallion style quilt.
I did the middle block, Gina Gregory was next and added a beautiful folk art inspired applique border and the baby of the team (also my baby at home) Lucy has added a machine pieced border.

Round 3 by Lucy Carson Kingwell
If you'd like to join in and receive a picture, pattern, templates, profile and recipe just e-mail us at amitie@amitie.com.au and make the subject line Rockin Robin but please note there is no time line to this project. It is just sent out as the girls complete their border!
